Berlin
Berlin is a fantastic city. It may look a little shabby,
but with so much recent history, who could blame it? It’s
rebuilding, though, and fast, and has turned itself into
one of Europe’s coolest capitals, filled with artists,
writers, musicians, museums and theatres. And after dark?
That’s when you get to see young Berlin in full
flow, with its wild nightlife and unlimited choices on
places to dance until well after the sun has come up and
all the normal people have gone to work. A city for art
lovers, history buffs and ravers alike, Berlin is one
of those places you have to visit at least once in your
life. |

Amsterdam
You’re probably considering a trip to Amsterdam
to do one of two things. One: to sample the rather fine
museums, take a trip along the canal and visit Anne Frank’s
House. Two: to get completely off your face in the coffee
shops and spend most of your stay exploring the streets
in a happy, hash-induced daze. At a push you might manage
both, but either way, Amsterdam rocks. |

Palma
Mallorca is all things to all people. It can be mass tourism
writ large, but equally it can be gloriously unspoilt
and stunningly beautiful. And then there's the town of
Palma, which comes to many as a wonderful surprise. Why?
Because it is a really buzzy Spanish metropolis, with
great bars, restaurants and good architecture. Once you're
safely installed, there's plenty of scope for getting
active on the island, so if you don't fancy whiling away
your holiday just in Palma, you can rent a car and head
off to the coast or the hills for some serious sporting
activities. |

Murcia
If you ever wanted to really get away from it all, Murcia
would be the place to do it in. Pinched between two main
resort destinations, the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca,
there’s always the possibility of heading towards
the crowds if you begin to feel a bit left out. If, however,
solitude is what you want, Murcia is one of the prettiest
places you could seek it in. |
